Portmore, St Catherine security guard 32-year-old Kareem Cunningham, otherwise called ‘Bredda’, has been charged with embezzlement.
Cunningham is being accused of stealing money given to him by a customer to deposit.
The incident occurred on Main Street, Mandeville, Manchester
The police report that about 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, Cunningham received the sum of $227,652 from a customer, which was intended to be deposited into a company vault.
However, he allegedly stole $100,000 for personal his use and only deposited $127,652 into the vault.
Cunningham did not return to work thereafter.
On Friday, April 4, 2024, Cunningham was apprehended by police in Portmore, St Catherine.
During an interview with the police, he provided a caution statement admitting to the crime, according to the police.
Subsequently, he was formally charged and is scheduled to appear before the Manchester Parish Court on Wednesday, April 17.
