Love To Dance? Join In On A Fun Caribbean Climate Change Project

Soca. Dancehall. Bachata. Reggae. Calypso. Parang. Punta. Caribbean culture comes full circle and inspires the hearts, minds, and bodies of its proud people around the world. Meanwhile, the Caribbean lifestyle is vibrant, carefree, and full of rhythms inspired by the height of the region’s jungle-packed peaks and wave-lapped coastlines. But can you imagine the Caribbean without its beaches, biodiversity, or spirit? This is why climate change is an existential threat to our way of life. As a new activity under its contract with the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC), McNab Design Ltd. (MDL) is hosting an open casting call for Belize-based CARIFORUM citizens that love to dance! Join in on this dance project to raise awareness of Caribbean climate change with a soca-based, original Belizean-produced song. This is a paid opportunity, and dancer stipends will be provided.

Deadline for participants extended: February 17, 2022

The goal of these activities is for enhancing climate resilience in CARIFORUM countries, which is the project that’s an initiative of the ACP Group of States funded by the European Union. All Caribbean nationalities and gender expressions are welcomed for this audio-visual project! Experience isn’t necessary, but it’s a plus; your short (choreographed) dance would be a maximum of 90 seconds long and included within a short 3-4 minute video.
