The Signature New Rum On The Market in Belize

The country’s oldest distillery just introduced its latest addition to the market: Belizean Blue, a new Signature Rum by Travellers Liquors Belize. Producing rich, dark, fruity Travellers One Barrel since the 1950s, the Belizean brand has won numerous signature awards, including the Silver Medal for Best Flavored Rum for 2022 by TheFiftyBest for its Kuknat Rum. The Belizean Blue—distilled, aged, and blended in Belize by Travellers—has spent the last three years getting perfected, from taste to presentation. On its label, you’ll even find a majority of the destination’s national symbols, including the country’s national bird the keel-billed toucan, and animal the tapir.

Situated in Central America along the Caribbean Sea, Belize is a small and sparsely populated country that relies heavily on agriculture and tourism. With the Belize Barrier Reef as a key attraction, the country’s low mountains, lush jungles, coastal plains, and beautiful lagoons offer rich biodiversity. All in all, Travellers says, “Belizean Blue stands for fair Belizean rum, bringing you an authentic taste of the region.”

THE SIGNATURE BLEND

Belizean Blue is a blend of the finest Belizean rums aged for up to 7 years in ex-bourbon oak barrels. Crafted in Belize from locally grown, fairly produced sugarcane, this unique rum blend has a sweet and spicy flavor profile with hints of coconut and vanilla. This versatile ‘Signature Blend’ can be enjoyed neat or on the rocks, but also provides an excellent basis for creating cocktails.

For an experience as strong as the rum, Traveller’s Liquors Rum Museum & Heritage Center can be toured on the north side of Belize City. Outlining their family’s legacy, guests get an inside look at the bottling process, product sampling, Belizean cocktail-making tips, and opportunities to sample and purchase vintage edition rum. The best part? The short tour also includes some rum samples at the end before leading you into the onsite rum gift shop!
