Non-destructive testing specialist IrisNDT has swooped for fellow provider James Fisher NDT in an undisclosed deal.
The Immingham-headquartered UK arm of the Canadian multinational has agreed the purchase of the division of the North West maritime giant.
Based in Deeside, Wales, it has served the aerospace, defence, automotive, petrochemical, utilities and nuclear markets since 2006, offering a wide array of field and laboratory non-destructive testing services.

It will continue to operate from a state-of-the-art 33,000 sq ft facility, that includes eight radiographic bays, and was opened by the Welsh First Minister in 2015.

Nadcap is the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Programme, a global cooperative passport for aerospace engineering, defence and related industries.
James Fisher NDT employs around 28 people, having reduced during the Covid pandemic. It saw aerospace work nose dive, leading to a loss of almost £1 million in 2020. Revenues declined 57 per cent.
