65 Percent of U.S. Travelers Look Forward To Travelling Again

A majority of Americans (65 percent) are looking forward to travel again, both internationally and domestically, according to new research by Zapwater Communications, a travel and lifestyle communications agency. In addition, two in five (39 percent) are hoping to travel within the first six months after travel restrictions are lifted. The agency surveyed 1,280 U.S.-based frequent travellers about their travel decisions pre- and post-COVID-19. This included areas of preference to travel, when they would feel comfortable traveling again, length of trip, mode of transportation, travel experiences, type of trip, factors that would influence travel, and travel habits among others.

Fifty-six percent of those surveyed said they feel comfortable spending just as much on a trip as they would have before COVID-19. Four in five (80 percent) of respondents said they are willing and look to travel three to seven nights during their first post-coronavirus trip. The top international regions of interest for travel are Canada, the Caribbean and Europe. To date, Belize has recorded a total of 19 coronavirus cases, with its most recent case reported on June 5 after 53 days since its last.

To date, Belize’s borders and international airport remain closed as a precaution to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. However, once travel reopens, Belize won’t only be a safe destination to vacation, but an easier alternative to arrive. With our close proximity to the U.S. and Canada, a direct flight to Belize could be just two hours away. In the US, major cities include Miami and Fort Lauderdale, Atlanta, Houston, and Dallas. Denver is just about 4 hours away, while Los Angeles is approximately 5 hours away. Given our low-volume tourism and the lowest population density in Latin America, Belize allows you to naturally self-isolate.
